Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN)


The Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria, which was incorporated as a Company limited by Guarantee on 17 June 1994, is positioned to be recognized as ‘the voice’ of professionals involved in the practice of Business Recovery and Insolvency.

One of its main objectives is to impact legislative reform by evaluating and focusing attention on the development of the Nigerian law in the areas of bankruptcy, receivership and liquidations, business restructuring and turnaround management.

Membership

The membership consists of insolvency practitioners who are usually qualified as lawyers, accountants or bankers with not less than five years’ post-membership banking experience. Also inclusive are other professionals with cognate experience in Business Recovery and Insolvency.  As at July 2009, total membership was 160.

The current President is Mr Seyi Akinwunmi, principal partner with the law firm of Akinwunmi & Busari, and former General Secretary of the Association while the General Secretary is Mr Adeyemi Adetunji, CEO, Adeyemi Adetunji + Associates (Insolvency Practitioners).
